Dipa Karmakar will make an historic debut as Indias first female gymnast competing at an Olympic Games on Sunday night (11pm IST) at the Rio Olympic Arena. Her vaults in the competition are expected to be front handspring double somersault (the Produnova) with a D-(difficulty) score points value of 7 and the Tsukahara stretched double twist (also known as the Zamolodchikova) with a D-score points value of 6. In Rio tonight, she will be fourth up on the vault after Mokosova, Gomes and Larsson. Dipas division -- comprising 20 gymnasts in all -- will go through their entire routines in around two hours.Through these routines on the four apparatus, every gymnast would be seeking qualification in at least one if not all three competitions that are on simultaneously: individual apparatus, individual all-round and team.
