Wetteland lives in the Dallas-area suburb of Trophy Club.Bartonville Police Chief Bobby Dowell said the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services contacted his office last week. After an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Wetteland, who was taken into custody by Denton County sheriff’s deputies.Dowell said that because of the nature of the offense and the stage of the investigation, he had no further details to release. DFPS spokeswoman Marissa Gonzales said details of the agency’s cases are confidential.According to a consolidated complaint and probable cause affidavit, Wetteland is accused of having a child perform a sex act on him, beginning in 2004 when the child was 4. The accuser said it happened twice more during a two-year period.The Associated Press was not able to contact Wetteland or his attorney for comment.Wetteland was the Most Valuable Player of the 1996 World Series when he helped the New York Yankees beat the Atlanta Braves. Media outlets reported that Denton County authorities described the call as a mental health issue, saying Wetteland was contemplating suicide. Wetteland said in a statement at the time that “the circumstances leading to my elevated blood pressure and heart rate have been addressed.”The Texas Rangers said in a statement that they “have been made aware of this situation and have no further comment.” Wetteland has no current role with the organization. In 13 games this spring, Duda hit .258/.395/.355, 3 2B Neil Walker Jersey , 7 BB. He was in competition with Tyler Austin for a bench spot to back up C.J. Cron at first base along with some possible outfield work. The Twins also sent three non-roster invitee bullpen arms and a catcher to minor-league camp: lefty Justin Nicolino, righties Ryan Eades and Jake Reed, and catcher/first baseman Wynston Sawyer. Nicolino was fairly impressive in 6 games, posting a 1.59 ERA in 5.2 IP, ER, 4 K. Eades posted a 1.29 ERA in 7 games, allowing a homer (his only earned run allowed), and striking out nine batters in seven total innings. Sawyer saw some time both behind the plate and at first base; he played in 15 games and went to the plate 19 times, batting .176/.263/.294 with 2 2B, an RBI, and 2 BB. These changes leave the Twins with 36 players left in camp and with these cuts, three catchers remain (Castro, Garver, and Astudillo), along with 12 bullpen arms.
